Finding easy flamenco guitar lessons on the internet is pretty tough. Believe me, I’ve been trying. The problem is that the guitar sites and tutors I’ve come across so far all seem to think that the people watching their lessons grew up in Spain playing guitar since 5 years old which is obviously not the case. As a result they move very quickly through the lessons and forget that for some of us just getting from a C chord to and F major is a challenge.

Well perhaps then we shouldn’t be trying to play flamenco style guitar at all?

I think that is a valid point. I mean it’s not fair to ask a teacher, however good they may be, to teach you things on guitar you are not yet technically ready for but surely there is a way to present the information in a more beginner-friendly fashion? Teach flamenco to adults like you would small children. The point is that guitar teachers shouldn’t assume so much of their online students.

Then I realized that I already am executing it in a good way. Nobody taught me how to do it or something; it just popped out of me, like it’s something natural. But don’t worry, it’s not a gift. Phrasing is the process of applying your own emotional / personal touches to the guitar solo or you’re playing. It results to the application of your own timing and nuances to the solo without going out of the groove that you are playing with. Here’s a guitar technique that is as important as learning the guitar itself. Bending. It is used to being life to your guitar playing.
